Full-Time EMS Reserve EMT Position Vacancy

Position Title: Reserve EMS Transport EMT
Location: Central Valley Fire District, Belgrade, MT
Compensation: $22/hour
Employment Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt with benefits*
Work Commitment: 40 hours/week, 80 hours/pay period

Position Overview:
Central Valley Fire District (CVFD) is seeking qualified and motivated EMTs to join our Reserve EMS
Transport Personnel Program. This full-time position supports non-emergency interfacility
transports (IFTs) and selected out-of-district 911 meet-up/transports. Reserve EMTs play a critical
role in expanding EMS capacity, relieving pressure on suppression crews, and enhancing service
delivery to rural communities.

This position offers a flexible schedule and the opportunity to be part of an innovative and
growing EMS model.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Provide non-emergency medical transport for patients between healthcare facilities
• Assist in select 911 transports
• Deliver high-quality patient care under CVFD and partner agency protocols
• Ensure safe vehicle operation and timely documentation of patient care

Minimum Qualifications:
• Current EMT certification (State of Montana or National Registry)
• Valid CPR/BLS certification
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Successful completion of a background check
• Participation in a structured interview and a medical scenario assessment
• Completion of CVFD district orientation and policy compliance
• Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism in medical environments
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience in EMS transport or interfacility transfers
• Familiarity with rural EMS operations or multi-agency coordination
