Becoming a career firefighter is an extremely competitive process. If you desire a career in the fire service, you will improve your chances by having volunteer fire experience, higher education, a strong work ethic, and most importantly, a great attitude. Firefighting is a team endeavor, and requires a commitment to the team over a commitment to self.
Central Valley Fire District is a participating member in the Montana Firefighter Testing Consortium. To participate in this testing consortium, interested individuals must register for the consortium test no later than March 13th, to test in May of the same year. Please check the consortium website to verify deadline. Current CPAT's from other organizations will be accepted, but eligible applicants from Montana Firefighter Testing Consortium are contacted directly when a position comes open.
Any career positions for entry level Firefighter/EMT or Firefighter/Paramedic will be advertised and require a current CPAT. Additional testing, interviews and background checks will be required by CVFD.
From time to time, CVFD may have employment opportunities other than entry level firefighter. These positions will be advertised and posted on this website.
