Becoming a career firefighter is an extremely competitive process. If you desire a career in the fire service, you will improve your chances by having volunteer fire experience, higher education, a strong work ethic, and most importantly, a great attitude. Firefighting is a team endeavor, and requires a commitment to the team over a commitment to self.
Central Valley Fire District is a participating member in the Montana Firefighter Testing Consortium. To apply with CVFD, career applicants must register for the consortium test no later than April 1st to test in June of the same year.
Any career positions for entry level Firefighter/EMT or Firefighter/Paramedic will be advertised and drawn from the list established by the consortium. Additional testing, interviews and background checks will be required by CVFD.
From time to time, CVFD may have employment opportunities other than entry level firefighter. These positions will be advertised and posted on this website.
