"Prevent Kitchen Fires"—that's the message of this year's Fire Prevention Week. From October 6-12, we'll be spreading the word that more fires start in the kitchen than in any other part of the home—and inform people how to keep cooking fires from starting in the first place.

During Fire Prevention Week, Central Valley Fire District members will be visiting local schools during this week to promote this message and other important fire safety related topics. Students will also have the chance to ask questions, tour fire apparatus, and become familiar with the protective equipment worn by fire fighters.
